Description
Blood Elf sporting Valorous Regalia of Faith (Tier 7.5) from World of Warcraft.
Picture taken by Wow.com at the 2009 Blizzcon Costume Contest.
Everything was made and worn by me.
Materials:
Shoulders - Styrofoam, Paperclay, Lumiere paints, LED tap lights, brown velveteen fabric, Epoxy (always use epoxy when you need to glue something onto Styrofoam as it doesn't contain solvents that dissolve the foam).
Chestplate, backplate, belt - 8oz tooling leather, Lumiere paints, and Super Shene (acrylic sealer) - held together with rivets (probably too many), snaps, and one buckle.
Wings - 16 gauge copper wire, white knee-high stockings (they come in plastic eggs from the drug store...a pair is about 50 cents), electrical tape, leather (to cover the tape bar), and epoxy to glue the leather onto the bar).
Robes - Simplicity 4940 LotR elf robe pattern (altered the sleeves) made out of brown velveteen and gold cording, satin, and a light weight gold satin meant for lining clothes. Applied gold satin to the robe using sewable iron-on adhesive rolls (prevents fraying).
Staff - Wood, PVC pipe, Bondo, acrylic gems (hand made), epoxy, primer, spray paint, and blue vinyl fabric.
Wig- eBay
Ears - [link] Neraluna
Shoes and socks - Target
Hope I'm not forgetting anything. Please ask me any questions you may have and thanks for looking.
God I love epoxy.
