I just realized I haven't updated my journal since 2010. >.> Had a lot of fun at Blizzcon 2011. We had some guildies stay with us and let me say it was a fantastic week! I got to see friends I don't often see, and I even made some new friends! Totally unforgettable. Deathwing took home third place in the contest as well. I posted a papermache/paperclay/pepakura tutorial in my gallery if anyone is interested. ALA 2012 was a blast too. Hung out with my friends ~KurisuchieKitty (https://www.deviantart.com/kurisuchiekitty), :iconShiroTagachi:, and :iconYoruichiNyow:. Here's to a new year and new costumes! =)

Thanks, everyone! I am really flattered from the DD and all your nice comments.  There have been a lot of similar questions about my work, so I thought a journal post would be appropriate. I am not attending BlizzCon this year as most of my time and funds were spent on the purchase of my new house. I am finally getting settled so I will be planning a costume for next year's BlizzCon, as it's my favorite convention to attend. I am not taking commissions as I am very new to leatherworking, and I feel I need to improve my skill and speed at which I work if I were to make pieces for customers. Leatherworking is my hobby between school and work

Blizzcon was awesome this year! I met so many more amazing people, many who gave me great advise and tips. People are so creative with their costumes so I just love getting together and sharing methods.  Look for some posts this coming week showing the process of my costume. I hope someone can gain something from it. =) Costumes aside, the new expansion announcement left me really excited! I mean, c'mon-WORGEN! How awesome is that?  After the contest I got changed then the husband and I went to try out WoW: Cataclysm.  We were running around as Worgen turning in quests when THIS  popped up on his screen. Holy crap! A video card? We were gon

Thanks for the tutorials!
Thank you! Glad you like the tutorials. =)
Very gifted!
Keep it up!
Hey, I was looking at your costumes, and they're amazing. I don't use deviant art a whole lot, but I recently found myself at your leather-working tutorial that I remember looking at about a year ago!

I'm currently working on a Valeera Sanguinar cosplay for Blizzcon. (Almost done, yay!) And I was just wondering what your/your husband's experience with the costume contest was, how early do you have to show up to sign in/stand in line at the actual contest, what it's like at prejudging (is there prejudging?), and where you got your blood elf ears for your costume, because they look really good and I can't find any that look good?

Thank you so much.

Hey there and thank you!

If I remember correctly the contest was at 6:00 and we had to be there by 4:30 for prejudging (they should tell you for sure in an e-mail though, or when you check in earlier that day to confirm you will be in the contest...if they still do that). It was a really good experience that year. They had bottled water and the back was lit very well, especially at the judge's table. They had staff members directing everyone. They also had a professional photographer there to take pictures of everyone against a white backdrop.

I got my elf ears, which fit fantastically well over my own ears, from Neraluna in Italy. www.neraluna.com/en/prosthetic…

Good luck! =)
Thank you so much for the reply! :)

Those ears look amazing and they're super reasonably priced too.

Thanks again.
Your work is incredible. *__* (THAT ARMOR, UNNNNF ) In the future if you want to ever to a cosplay group, collab, count me in! So nice to have met you, as well~ I can't wait to see that dress you're planning, either!
